Roundtable:
Resilient responses during lockdown in China
Shanghai lockdown has had a huge impact on the business and operations of Swiss companies operating in the Yangtze River Delta. Also, other Chinese cities have been implementing drastic restrictions in dealing with the omicron outbreak. While many firms suffered, others reached out externally to expand their customer base and internally to HQs (Survey SwissCham 2022). Further, the lockdown triggered an overall sense of unity and solidarity in the workplace and beyond.
The panellists will share the experiences of Swiss and local firms during the lockdown, and provide insights into how they offset difficulties. The insights shared at the roundtable will be valuable for HES-SO students and academics as well as for entrepreneurs and managers of high technology firms seeking to learn from the experiences of professionals and firms based in China.
