Q. What courses are available to international students?
A. Foreign students are allowed to attend any course they wish, provided they have the necessary prerequisites and their schedules allow it.
Q. What level of French is required for admission to courses?
A. A working knowledge of French (B2 level) is necessary to follow classes. No entrance exam is required. In the Management department, there is a semester workload of courses given in English. Study projects can be done in English under the supervision of a professor.
Q. Do you organise any language courses?
A. HEIG-VD organises a "survival French" course each semester. Students doing a study project can, of course, communicate in English with their professors..
Q. How long will it take for my application to be processed by your school?
A. The deadline for applications is May 1st for the fall semester and December 1st for the spring semester. For study projects, those can happen throughout the year.
Q. Will I get credits at my home institution for the classes I take in HEIG-VD?
A. You will have to settle this question with your home institution before your departure. By filling in a Learning Agreement. Slight modifications might be necessary during the semester. However, if you pass your chosen courses and/or exams at the HEIG-VD, you should get credits.
Q. Do you provide housing for exchange students ?
A. We have a limited number of rooms in our student residences booked for our partners' incoming students (600.-/month). In case, rooms are fully booked, we provide incoming students with contacts and tips for cheap housing in Yverdon-les-Bains.
